Carrier Pricing and Procurement
We have an exciting opportunity for a supply chain professional to join our team in a Carrier Operations, Pricing, and Procurement Lead. This role is responsible for working closely with our carrier partners. Duties include, but not limited to; procuring, profiling, monitoring, and negotiating with carrier partners while also maintaining databases. This role will report to the Director of Operations.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will be first and foremost a team player who’s excited to help us build upon the solid foundation we have put together as the logistics division of Stryder Motorfreight. Chosen applicants must possess a unique mix of analytical, decision-making, leadership, and communication abilities, industry knowledge, preferably with pricing, analytics, load planning/carrier sales, customer experience (operations/care), supply chain solutions, business development or similar experience.
Specific qualifications include:
● 3pl Brokerage Experience is a MUST have.
● Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills
● Very strong technical skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with proven ability to synthesize
multiple data sources to develop insights and strategy recommendations
● TMS experience, TMW is preferred
● Ability to work independently
● Excellent communication and organizational skills
● Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude
● Ability to work in a face paced and demanding environment
The successful candidate will be an individual who thrives on meeting tight deadlines in a challenging environment while managing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
● Full understanding of all surface transportation modes in North America; TL, LTL, Intermodal, Dry and Temperature Control, Specialized and Intermodal for Domestics, US and Cross Border
● Bid tool preparation for customer (and Carrier) bids and projects and bid and transactional cost management
● Lead pre-planning, strategy development, and coordination of responses to multi-modal RFP and other opportunity pursuits
● Work with leadership, network planning, and pricing teams to establish pricing strategy and guidelines for assigned markets and customers
● Identify opportunities for growth, profit maximization, and network improvements through pricing strategies and tactics
● Establish and manage KPIs & KFIs
● Manage daily and weekly carrier capacity commitments and communicate available capacity for load recoveries and market opportunities for growth
● Build, manage, and maintain relationships with assigned carriers to ensure daily execution
● Analyze carrier performance scorecards and drive improvements in areas such as on-time performance, communication, event timeliness, and tender acceptance
● Previous experience in managing a team of Cost Analysts and providing direction, coaching, recognition, etc. to achieve department and corporate strategy and goals
● Assist new business pricing in bid tool creation, costing models, and development
● Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that carrier charges are accurate to maximize cost advantages, forecasting trends and practices according to the conditions in the market and industry while meeting corporate goals and objectives
● Effectively work with other divisions within the Stryder Group of Companies
